Hebrews 10:35-38
"Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For, 'Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.' But, we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls."
At the beginning of this year, the Lord set me free from my fear of man, and I am still talking about it! The Lord truly led me into radical freedom! He specifically used a counseling course and Revelation Wellness Instructor Training.
He also used Restless by Jennie Allen. I read this book at the end of last year. It was so good, that right when I finished it, I started it again! I consider this book an important part of my journey to freedom and realizing purpose, direction, and calling in my life.
If you are "restless" and know that you want more out of this life, but don't quite know what that might be, read this book. It will help you seek the Lord and process through and think through what He might have for you.
When I heard about Made for This, I preordered it, announced it on my social media, and I did this study with a friend during Lent. It is so good! I highly recommend Made for This! It is a combination of Restless and Anything that helps you process through the threads of your life--things you love, suffering and difficulties, your places, your people, and more. You put it all together, and see how the Lord is using it all for His glory, your purpose, and the calling on your life. This book is a gift and will take you on an amazing journey with the Lord as you make meaning of life.
Jennie Allen speaks truth, and she challenges and exhorts readers to walk by faith, serve the Lord, and not shrink back from walking in obedience to Him. After going through these two books, I cannot shake those verses in Hebrews. I have confidence because of the blood of Jesus (Hebrews 10:19), and I will not throw it away! I need endurance to do the will of the Lord. So, I will have faith and NOT shrink back!
